Glen Scotia Double cask and glass 20cl 46%

Description

A refined gift for any single malt lover. This gift set includes a 20cl bottle of the smooth and renowned Double Cask single malt, as well as a branded Glencairn Glass, all packaged in a branded gift carton. The Double Cask single malt is aged in first fill bourbon barrels and PX sherry casks. It arrives at 46% abv. Expect vibrant fruit aromas, with chewy fudge, and oak notes. Toffee, spicy fruits make themselves apparent on the palate, in a slightly herbaceous, oily character. The finish is a dry sherried one, with hints of sweetness. Delicious.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Vibrant fruit emerges first (peach flesh and green apple peels), followed by chewy vanilla fudge, a hint of salinity, then an array of oak-y spices including some char.

Palate

Opens with more fudge with a little dusting of powdered sugar. Powerful, oily and a touch herbaceous with some German brandy character.

Finish

Sherried notes come through more on the finish.
