Description

Named after a coaching inn on Edinburgh’s Canongate, (also owned by the Mackie family since the 1650’s) White Horse can trace its history back to 1880, when James Logan Mackie founded the whisky merchants, James Logan Mackie & Co., which by 1884 held a stake in Islay distillery Lagavulin.

Lovely aromas of seaweed, green vegetable, straw, grain kernel, toasted almond, dried fruit, pastry and oak. On the palate, early tastes include light toffee, brown butter, almonds and pine; the dry midpalate features subtle peatiness, butter cream, cooking oil and bacon fat. Concludes oily, concentrated and peaty. Fantastic value.

White Horse's blended whisky. Another brand with a long and illustrious history, named after a famous Edinburgh hostelry. Containing around 40% malt whisky, White Horse has a pleasing honeyed palate accompanied by peaty undertones.
